Topping up a two-storey home was the solution to provide the home owners the extra footage they needed for their young family. Combining functionality with modern simplicity, the new third-floor addition holds two airy bedrooms under a vaulted ceiling and a crisp white bathroom fitted with a skylight for a light-filled space. A newly crafted oak staircase with nine-foot-high glass panelling connects the second and third floors.
To blend into the surrounding neighbourhood with a timeless aesthetic, we cladded the home’s exterior in cedar and white fibre-cement panels, which beautifully complement the soft grey hue of the existing natural stone.
