The location of a one-and-a-half storey home, steps from the shores of Lake Ontario and a 194-acre park, inspired us to borrow design from nature. The exterior’s cedar cladding nods to the nearby woodland setting while large openings display brilliant vistas of lush greenery and lapping water. Natural light bathes the second floor thanks to clerestories that run the width of the home.
By building up on the existing foundation footprint and repurposing the main-floor brick walls, this home now boasts four generous bedrooms and an open-concept space for the main living quarters that are anchored by a captivating ceiling detail with integrated lighting. Custom millwork solutions abound in walnut and matte black for a clean interior. The main attraction, of course, is the magnetic kitchen complete with a dramatic quartz waterfall island and gently undulating backsplash tiles reminiscent of rippling water.
